Why Houses for Sale St Marys:

Many 19th-century buildings were built in St. Marys with locally quarried limestone. The Opera House, built in 1880, is a notable building. Also, the spired municipal Town Hall was built in 1891. And the Public Library was built in 1904.

The Museum and Archives has a lot of historical information and photographs. Theatre productions and other events are offered by the Town Hall theatre. The Municipal Heritage Committee works to preserve historic stone buildings. It also publishes an online brochure with useful information about the area.

Grand Trunk Trail is a walkway that was created from the two-kilometre stretch of former Grand Trunk Railway. You can walk across the restored Sarnia bridge to enjoy panoramic views of the town.

The Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame was established in 1998 and moved from Toronto to St. Marys in 1994. Its mission is to preserve Canada’s baseball history. Inducted since opening are 75 members, including 46 players, 23 builders and 2 honorary, 4 honourary teams.

This includes amateur and professional baseball players, as well as builders and honorary members who have contributed to the popularity of the sport in Canada. It also features a baseball field that Art Lierman, a landscape architect from London, Ontario, designed.

The museum houses thousands of artifacts including memorabilia from Fergie Jenkins, Larry Walker, and artifacts from Canada’s two major league teams, the Toronto Blue Jays (and the Montreal Expos), a Babe Ruth collection, and a large display about all current MLB Canadians. It also includes a tribute to the Canadian women who participated in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League.

There are also four other ballfields on the site, including the St. Marys cement company field, Rotary Field, King Field, and 3rd Field. These fields were built between 1998-2014. Each year, over 900 events are held at the site. These include Major League Baseball tryout camps as well as World Junior Championship exhibition games.
