I hope this article helps provide some insight into the High Schools in London, Ontario.  These become very important when buying a home in London.  It is important to understand the neighbourhoods and also what the schools in the area provide.  This list includes both public and Catholic High Schools and the schools and ranked from best to worse.

London Central Secondary School:

Is one of the oldest public secondary school located at the corner of Dufferin Avenue and Waterloo Street in downtown London, Ontario. It is a member of the Thames Valley District School Board. It has approximately 1000 students in full attendance, ranging from grades nine to twelve. Rated 8.5/10

Lord Dorchester Secondary School:

Is a Thames Valley District School Board Secondary School located at 61 Queens st. in the town of Dorchester, Ontario, part of the municipality of Thames Centre, in the county of Middlesex, in Ontario, Canada. Although small when compared to urban secondary schools, Lord Dorchester is larger than many rural-area schools. Rated 7.6/10

Mother Teresa Catholic Secondary School:

is a private, Roman Catholic, co-educational secondary school in London, Ontario, Canada. It was established in 2000 and is part of the London District Catholic School Board.  Located in North East London on Sunningdale by South Wenige St. Rated 7.4/10

A.B. Lucas Secondary School:

Iis a secondary school located at 656 Tennent Avenue, the northern end of London, Ontario, Canada. The school was named after Dr. A.B. Lucas, who was recognized for his contribution to education in London. Rated 7.2/10

Oakridge Secondary School:

Is one of the government-operated high schools (as opposed to collegiate institutes) in the neighbourhood of Oakridge located at 1040 Oxford St West in London, Ontario, Canada. The school enrolls around 1000 students, and is located on Oxford Street in West London. The school’s demonym is Oakridge Oaks and its colours are red, blue and gold. Rated 7/10

Davison Secondary School(formerly known as Thames Secondary School):

Is a high school located 785 Trafalgar St in London, Ontario, Canada. It was established in 2014 after amalgamating the former Sir George Ross and Thames Secondary Schools. The school is named after Basil Davison, a former staff member of both now-defunct schools. Rated 7/10

St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary School:

 (STA) is a Catholic secondary school in London, Ontario, located in the neighbourhood of Oakridge in the west end of the city. It currently serves students in the London District Catholic School Board in the London Areas of Byron, Oakridge, Westmount, Lambeth, as well as some areas outside of the city limits such as Delaware, Komoka and even as far as Mount Brydges. Rated 6.8/10

Medway High School:

Is a high school in Arva in Middlesex County, Ontario, Canada, approximately one kilometre north of London, Ontario, Canada city limits.  Arva and Medway are essentially part of Northern London. Rate 6.4/10

Sir Frederick Banting Secondary School:

Is a high school located at 125 Sherwood Forest Square in London, Ontario, Canada. Part of the Thames Valley District School Board, it was officially opened in 1969. Banting is recognized for having a strong French Immersion program and a music program. The school is named after Sir Frederick Banting, who won the Nobel Prize for the discovery of insulin in 1923. Rated 6.4/10

Westminster Secondary School:

Is a public high school located at 230 base Lone Road West in south London, Ontario, with students from a variety of ethnic backgrounds from across the world.  The school offers three Specialist High Skill Major programs including Transportation, Performing Arts, and health and Wellness, a co-op program, ESL classes, and developmental education classes. Rated 6.4/10

St. Andre Bessette Catholic Secondary School:

 is a Catholic secondary school located on Tokala Trail in London, Ontario, administered by the London District Catholic School Board (LDCSB). It is the most recent high school to be built in the LDCSB, the last one being Mother Teresa in 2000. Rated 6.4/10

London South Collegiate Institute: (also known as S.C.I., or simply South):

Is a public high school in London, Ontario, Canada, located at 371 Tecumseh Avenue East. South is administered by the Thames Valley District School Board. Approximately 600 students attend the school in grades 9-12, which offers a co-op program. There is also a program for gifted students called the Academy Program. Rated 6.4/10

Catholic Central High School:

(CCH) in London, was Ontario’s first Jr. Catholic High School, opened with grades 7 to 13 in September 1950. The school has a wider range of programs than other London region high schools, such as the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, Environmental Leadership Program, English as a Second Language program and the Music Extension program.  The school is located on Dundas and Corblorne St.  Rate 6/10

Sir Wilfrid Laurier Secondary School or Laurier:

Is a high school located at 450 Millbank Drive in the south east end of London, Ontario, Canada. The school is in the Thames Valley District School Board. Sir Wilfrid Laurier S.S has plenty of athletic opportunities available for its students. Popular sports include American football and cross country in the fall, as well as volleyball and basketball in the winter. Many other individual or small team sports are offered as well. Rated 5.1/10

The H.B. Beal Secondary School:

Is a high school in London, Ontario – located between Maitland st, Dundas St, King’s St, and William St. It is named after Herbert Benson Beal, the founder and first principal of the school. H.B. Beal is the second largest school in Thames Valley District School Board with almost 2,000 students.  Rated 5/10

John Paul II Catholic Secondary School:

is a secondary school in London, Ontario. It is administered by the London District Catholic School Board. It is located at 1300 Oxford Street East, at the northeast corner of Oxford and Highbury Avenue, next to Fanshawe College. The property is quite large and occupies the corner of Oxford and Fanshawe. Rated 4.9/10

Saunders Secondary School:

Is located at 941 Viscount Road in the Westmount suburb of London, Ontario, Canada. It is named after William Saunders. William Saunders was a Canadian pioneer and an authority on agriculture and horticulture. Grades offered are 9–12. Saunders’ school colours are red and gold and its mascot is a sabre-tooth tiger. Saunders Secondary School is the largest high school in the Thames Valley District School Board. Rated 4.3/10

Regina Mundi Catholic College:

(RMC) is a Catholic secondary school located on Wellington St in London, Ontario, Canada, administered by the London District Catholic School Board. It is the second Catholic secondary school to be built and administered in London. RMC’S facility consists of a 50-acre property which had previously been used as a Junior Seminary. Rated 3.8/10

Clarke Road Secondary School:

Is located at 300 Clarke Road in London, Ontario. It is a part of the Thames Valley District School Board. The school was founded in 1956 and a major 14 million dollar renovation was completed in 1997. The school mascot is the Trojan Warrior. Rated 3.4/10

Montcalm Secondary School:

Is a comprehensive “Technology Emphasis” secondary school located at 1350 Highbury Avenue in northeast London, Ontario, Canada. The school provides a range of programs for all students. Student population is roughly 800.  There is plenty of New development in around the area. Rated 2.7/10
